When you click the link "Turn Edit Links On" you can edit your communities language fields. Sometimes it is helpful to add a dynamic variable to these language values that updates over time. This is the list of common variables available to you:
Community Email (%common:community_email%) An HTML version of your community email address that is protected from spam spiders, yet is easy for your members to click Community Name (%variables:sitename%) The name of your community Forum (%common:forum%) The word your community uses for the Forum feature Group Name (%variables:group_name%) The name of the group you are looking at Group Shortcut (%variables:group_shortcut%) The URL shortcut of the group you are looking at (only the portion after the site domain name) Library (%common:library%) The word your community uses for the Library feature Member (%common:member%) The word your site uses for "Member" Members (%common:members%) The word your site uses for "Members" You can reference any other language value this way: %PAGE_NAME:FIELD_NAME% Ex/ %common:member% pulls the value from value "member" on the page named "common" in the "Admin Tools" > "Manage Site Content and Branding" > "Edit (advanced)" page You can display any configuration setting this way: %variables:board_config.CONFIG_NAME_HERE% where "CONFIG_NAME_HERE" is what you see in "Admin Tools" > "Database Settings" See also "How to add/change text on a site page" Last edited by Dale M.; February 5th, 2010 at 05:38 PM.. |

Can the Group Shortcut variable be accessed? If so, what is that variable name?

Hi Mark, I have added the following in version 2.21.19, which should be pushed to your site within the week:
Group Shortcut (%variables:group_shortcut%) The URL shortcut of the group you are looking at (only the portion after the site domain name) So for example, this variable would show "mygroup" for the following URL: http://share.agn.org/mygroup |
